John "Buz" Windham

John F. “Buz” Windham retired from the active practice of law after 38 years. He was a senior partner at the law firm Beggs & Lane and specialized in workers’ compensation and related complex litigation, was a frequent speaker at national workers’ compensation seminars and published a workers’ compensation newsletter for over 25 years. In his retirement he is able to spend more time with his grandchildren and his volunteer work.

Buz is an active leader of professional associations and community organizations. After 10 years of volunteer work he became chapter chairman of the American Red Cross and has served the American Cancer Society on the local, state and national levels since 1976, becoming state chairman of the board in 1998. He was chairman of the board of directors for Escambia Christian School, was a member of the Advisory Board Interim Healthcare and Panhandle Rehabilitation Injury Management and Evaluation and was an adjunct assistant professor of business law at Troy State University.

Prior to the OneBlood merger, Buz served on the Northwest Florida Blood Services Foundation board of directors and on the Florida Blood Services board of directors, most recently as vice chairman. He currently serves as Chair of the Creative Testing Solutions board of directors, a multi- million dollar joint venture formed by leading laboratory testing companies in the U.S.

Buz earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of West Florida and his Juris Doctorate from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill School of Law.
